Biography
写真家・櫻井龍太は、人々や動植物、都市など、世界を本質的かつ普遍的な視点で捉え、とりわけヌード写真表現に尽力してきた。ありのままの姿、裸身の人々を撮影することにより、人間特有の根源的な行動や姿形を見出す。ドイツ発祥のナチュリズム運動や、日本のアニミズム、さらには東洋思想に根ざした自然哲学を手がかりに、櫻井は21世紀におけるヌーディズムの新たな可能性を模索している。
Photographer Sakurai Ryuta captures people, nature, and urban environments from a fundamental and universal perspective. He has dedicated himself especially to nude photography, seeking to reveal the essential behaviors and forms unique to human beings through the unadorned human body. Drawing on the German-born naturism movement, Japanese animism, and the natural philosophies rooted in Eastern thought, Sakurai explores the renewed possibilities of nudism in the 21st century.

1983 - Born in Osaka, JAPAN
2004 - 2006 Studied photography under Prof Hiromi Tsuchida
2006 - 2009 Worked as assistant of the photographer Masami Mori in Tokyo.
2010 - 2013 Worked as photographer at publishing company in Osaka.
2014 - 2015 After becoming independent, Sakurai wandered
around Asia 9 countries to create his works.
2015 - 2024 Lived and worked in Düsseldorf, GERMANY.
2015 - Currently based in Osaka, JAPAN.
